Everyone enjoys science demonstrations, especially when something explodes!  But have you ever wanted to move beyond the “wow” factor?  Do you want your students to actually THINK about what they’ve just seen?  If so, you need to give Mini-Labs a try. Mini-Labs are short (<60 minutes) inquiry based activities that give your students a chance to confront their misconceptions about the way the world works.  As a bonus, you get to see what they understand about the basic principles of science.

These fun activities will take your students beyond the “easy answer” and get them excited about understanding the world around them.

However, you’ve got to be willing to give them the time they need to struggle through to the answers.  Read the “Introduction”, as well as “How to Administer a Mini-Lab” for more information
